Magnetic Jingle Bell Pick Up Game

A few years ago I did an “elf boot camp” Christmas party with first graders. It included a bunch of STEAM challenges at different stations. Some were a little too challenging, but most of them went really well. One of them was this magnetic jingle bell sorting game.
The prep was super easy! I got a bag or two of the multi-colored jingle bells from The Dollar Tree, adhesive magnets, and jumbo popsicle sticks. You can use colored popsicle sticks or paint them to match the bell color. Then just stick a magnet on one end.
To make for easier cleanup in the classroom I dumped the bells out on a tray to contain them a bit. Then the kids took turns trying to collect bells that were the same color as their popsicle stick. If you want to make it more challenging, they can put one of their color back if they accidentally pick up the wrong color. Ultimately, whoever collects the most bells in their color wins.
