Matching Bonfire Hoodies

I never really got into the whole “Mommy and Me” outfit thing. A few times I sewed myself a skirt to match with Easter dresses, but usually I would sew for all of the girls and then pull something old out of my closet. I think it is cute, though, and my opportunities are fleeting! I only have one child left who has not outgrown me!!!

I had an opportunity to sew with fabric from Fabric Wholesale Direct and chose their lilac Dralon Stretch Sweatshirt Fleece. I really can’t say enough about the softness of this fabric! It is a lovely weight with a good amount of stretch and was a dream to sew with! I have washed it a few times and it has not pilled so I expect it to last a long time! I want to order more in ALL THE COLORS!!!

I decided to make a Miss Bonfire hoodie from Sofiona Designs wtih all of the features- hidden pocket, trim, drawstring waistband, and thumbhole cuffs. After a bit of pattern tetris, I realized that I had just enough to make a girls Bonfire for my youngest daughter as well! Twinsies!!!

AND since I was developing the Love Letters hand embroidery collection, I added the floral border to the bodice! It turned out so pretty! I also had a little oopsie by interfacing the wrong sides of the buttonholes for the hood drawstring so I added flowers there as well. It was a happy little accident!

I am holding on to this stage as long as I possibly can! I know she is going to be too “cool” to match Mom in about 5 minutes.
