A Little Fall Decorating

I seem to make all of these crafty things, but I never really do much to decorate my own house. Part of it is that I feel like it is a constant battle to get the kids to clean. It is hard to decorate a mess! Some of the struggle is with my grander ideas that never happen- our lighting is terrible and there is ugly paneling everywhere! I am also really indecisive and can’t…

Halloween and the Lamest Aunt Ever

I didn’t make any costumes this year. None of the kids were particularly excited about Halloween or insistent upon any particular costume idea. I was itching to sew a princess dress but there was not a single mention of Disney royalty this year. It was a little disappointing. I really need some sewing therapy! Instead, we just recycled some previously worn costumes for those who are not “too old” for Halloween. One came up with…

Paint Chip Jack-O-Lanterns

I am a big fan of activities for my kids that take very little preparation and can occupy them for a very long time! I usually enjoy spending time with my kids, but sometimes I have to get stuff done! On a recent trip to Lowe’s (where I actually did buy some paint) we grabbed some paint samples. Fall Decorating with Kids- How it Backfired

The girls did a few fall crafts this year in a failed attempt to keep them busy and out of trouble. It was a nice thought. 😉 So, in an effort to keep it real around here, I thought we would do a little exhibit of “Craft & Consequence” Craft: First up, the girls made this lovely glittered fall leaf garland decorating their playhouse. All I did was hot glue the ribbons to the backs…

Easy Fall Wreath

This year, I wanted to change it up from my usual indian corn baskets on the front door and make a new wreath. I was inpsired by THIS one that I saw on Pinterest a few years ago. I used some scrap fabric and a few wheat picks that I got on clearance at Joanns a long time ago, some red pip berries, and a little burlap. Then, I made a smaller version for my…
